This medication is used to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion caused by colds, allergies, and vasomotor rhinitis. In particular, the tablet and syrup forms can also help with tearing symptoms. It effectively improves these symptoms to help patients lead more comfortable daily lives.

How to take

Adult dose

(Tablet) 1 tablet once, 3 times a day after meals. (Capsule) 1 capsule once, 3 times a day after meals. (Syrup) 10 mL once, 3 times a day after meals.

Child dose

(Tablet) 12-14 years: 1/2 tablet once, 3 times a day after meals. (Capsule) 12-14 years: 1/2 capsule once, 3 times a day after meals. (Syrup) 12 years and older: 10 mL once.

Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephedrine, which can rarely cause severe skin reactions such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis. If you experience fever or symptoms such as red spots and small blisters on the skin, you should stop taking this medication immediately and consult with a healthcare professional. This medication is prohibited for people with certain diseases or conditions. For example, individuals who have previously had an allergic reaction to this medication, those with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, patients with serious heart diseases, individuals with difficulty urinating, those with hypertension or coronary artery disease, pregnant or potentially pregnant women and nursing mothers, infants under 2 years old, patients taking MAO inhibitors, and those with certain genetic lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Additionally, while taking this medication, do not take it with various drugs such as blood pressure medications, alcohol, central nervous system depressants such as sleeping pills or sedatives, MAO inhibitors, and sympathomimetics. Particularly, if you have recently taken an MAO inhibitor, you should wait at least 15 days before starting this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable to avoid activities that require concentration, such as driving or operating dangerous machinery. If you have asthma, glaucoma, heart disease, arrhythmia, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or benign prostatic hyperplasia, you should consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days, or you experience high fever, unrest, drowsiness, anxiety, sweating, low blood pressure, visual disturbances, hallucinations, muscle cramps, high fever, respiratory distress, or other central nervous system abnormal symptoms, you should stop taking the medication immediately and consult with a healthcare professional. Also, if you develop skin rash, vomiting, difficulty urinating, acute abdominal pain, bleeding, sudden severe headache, or other unusual symptoms, stop taking the medication immediately and consult with a professional. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hallucinations, seizures, nervous irritability, dizziness, and insomnia may occur, and treatment such as gastric lavage or dialysis may be necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, stored in the original container, away from direct sunlight, and kept in a dry and cool place. Additionally, transferring to another container may pose a risk of misuse or deterioration in quality, so it should be stored in the original container.

  • Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the oral/ocular mucosa
  • Symptoms of ischemic colitis (sudden abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, etc.)
  • Symptoms of reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome and reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances)
  • Central nervous system abnormalities (coma, respiratory failure, circulation issues)

Drug interactions

It is advisable not to take this medication with antihypertensives, central nervous system depressants (sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers), MAO inhibitors, sympathomimetics, tricyclic antidepressants, guanethidine, bretylium, beta-nidole, debrisoquin, methyldopa, sympathomimetic drugs (decongestants, appetite suppressants, stimulants of amphetamines), and alpha and beta adrenergic blockers (inhibitors).
