Precautions
This drug should not be used for patients with fever due to inflammation. It is also not recommended for individuals with prolonged cough due to a weak body. Patients who cough up blood should not take this medication. Newborns, breastfeeding women, and pregnant women should not use this drug. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or specific genetic issues should refrain from taking it. Among the ingredients in this medication, glycyrrhizin, when used in excess for prolonged periods, can lead to side effects such as hypokalemia, elevated blood pressure, fluid retention, edema, and weight gain, so caution is required. Individuals with high blood pressure, elderly patients, those with heart or kidney issues, patients with edema, and those currently under medical treatment must consult a specialist before taking this medication. During the course of treatment, if there is a decrease in urine output, severe swelling of the face or extremities, heaviness in the eyelids, stiff hands, increased blood pressure, or headaches, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a specialist should be consulted. Furthermore, prolonged use may lead to symptoms related to hypokalemia such as muscle weakness, cramps, or paralysis; if these symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued and a physician consulted. This drug may increase the risk of side effects when used with potassium supplements or certain diuretics, so it should be used cautiously. Lastly, this medication should be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture, and after use, it must be tightly sealed and should not be transferred to other containers to maintain quality.
