Precautions

This medicine contains lactose and should not be used by patients with a genetic disease that prevents the digestion of lactose. Patients with high blood pressure, elderly individuals, those with heart or kidney problems, those with body swelling, and those currently under medical treatment should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If urine output decreases, swelling occurs in the face or limbs, the eyelids feel heavy, hands feel stiff, blood pressure rises, or headaches develop during intake, immediately discontinue use and consult a professional. This medication contains licorice and prolonged use may lower potassium levels in the blood, which could lead to increased blood pressure or body swelling; therefore, potassium levels should be monitored through regular blood tests. If muscle weakness or symptoms of cramps or paralysis occur in the limbs, discontinue use immediately and consult medical personnel. Care should be taken when taking potassium supplements or other medications containing licorice, as well as certain diuretics, as side effects may be exacerbated. Regular liver function tests are necessary as there may be issues with liver function or symptoms of jaundice; discontinuation is required if any abnormal symptoms occur. If allergic reactions such as rashes or itching occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Symptoms such as indigestion, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and rarely urinary symptoms such as increased urination, pain during urination, or blood in urine may appear; therefore, careful monitoring is necessary. If symptoms such as breathing difficulties, cough, or fever occur, there may be a possibility of lung disease, so immediate discontinuation of medication and prompt medical evaluation is necessary. Consider the patient's constitution and symptoms when using this medication, and if symptoms do not improve, do not continue taking it and consult a professional. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. In children, caution is necessary as safety has not been sufficiently verified for use. Older individuals may have decreased physical function, so careful dosing, such as reducing the amount, is necessary. Finally, concurrent use of this medication with interferon alpha may result in serious side effects such as interstitial pneumonia, so co-administration should be avoided.
