This medicine should not be used by individuals with fever due to inflammation, those with a hot body constitution, those with weakened bodies who have dry coughs or have been coughing for long periods, and individuals who vomit blood. This medicine contains lactose, so individuals with genetically determined galactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication. Individuals with high blood pressure or elderly patients, those with heart or kidney function problems, those with body swelling, patients receiving medical treatment, and children with poor nutritional status or Phlegm-Heat should consult with their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If urine output decreases, symptoms such as swelling of the face or limbs occur, eyelids feel heavy, or a stiff sensation in the hands develops during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a professional. As this medicine contains licorice, prolonged usage in large amounts may lead to symptoms such as hypokalemia, increased blood pressure, fluid retention, edema, and weight gain, hence it is necessary to regularly check potassium levels through blood tests; if abnormal levels are observed, use should be halted. Muscle-related issues such as weakness, spasms, or paralysis may occur due to hypokalemia, so if these symptoms appear, stop taking the medication and consult a professional. Be cautious as there may be side effects such as thirst or a curling of the tongue. Concomitant use of potassium-containing medications, other medications with licorice, and certain diuretics may increase the risk of hypokalemia and muscle issues, thus caution must be exercised. It is advised not to use the specific ingredients Banha and Odu together.
