Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal eye disease, mycobacterial infection, or chronic blepharitis. Patients with hypersensitivity should also avoid using this medication. It is generally not used in patients with corneal epithelium denudation or ulcers, patients with tuberculous or purulent ocular diseases, glaucoma patients, or infants under 2 years of age; however, it must be administered with extreme caution in necessary cases. Regular intraocular pressure measurements are needed because prolonged use may lead to serious side effects such as increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, or optic nerve damage. This medication may worsen infections such as herpetic keratitis or fungal keratitis, and there is also a risk of corneal perforation, so caution is necessary when an infection is suspected. Long-term use may increase the risk of posterior subcapsular cataracts or secondary infections due to immunosuppression. When there is acute purulent ocular infection, using this medication may hide symptoms or worsen them, so caution is advised. Temporary blurriness may occur upon instillation, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. Infection with varicella or measles can lead to fatal outcomes, so it's crucial to check the history of varicella or measles and vaccination status before using this medication. Patients at risk of infection require careful observation and consideration to prevent infections, and if infection is suspected or occurs, immediate medical consultation is necessary. When wearing contact lenses, they should be removed and reinserted at least 30 minutes after using this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid long-term or frequent use of this medication, and nursing mothers should either avoid it or, if absolutely necessary, discontinue breastfeeding. Children and the elderly may have different physiological functions, so special caution is required when using this medication.

Side effects

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it should be stored in a sealed container. It is recommended to maintain a storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees at room temperature. Storing it this way ensures the medication's efficacy is safely maintained.
