This medication alleviates symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and tearing associated with cold, allergic, and vasomotor rhinitis, and temporarily improves nasal congestion due to sinusitis. Therefore, it is used effectively to manage various symptoms related to the nose.

How to take

Adult dose

Children aged 12 years and older and adults take 10 mL every 4 hours. Do not exceed 60 mL in 24 hours, and follow the doctor's instructions.

Child dose

Children aged 6 to under 12 years take 5 mL every 4 hours. Do not exceed 30 mL in 24 hours, and follow the doctor's instructions. Children aged 2 to under 6 years should follow the doctor's instructions.

Precautions

This medication contains an amine sympathomimetic agent and an antihistamine, so individuals allergic to or sensitive to this medication's components should not take it. Those with specific sensitivities are also advised not to take this medication. Nursing mothers should not take this medication. Patients with severe hypertension or coronary artery disease or those undergoing MAO inhibitor therapy should also avoid this medication. Patients suffering from respiratory distress symptoms such as narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, peptic ulcers, asthma, emphysema, or chronic pulmonary diseases are also prohibited from taking it. Those taking sedatives or tranquilizers should exercise caution when using this medication. Patients with chronic bronchitis, heart disease, hypertension, thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, glaucoma, or urination difficulties due to prostate enlargement should not take this medication without a doctor's guidance. This medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, and should be used with caution if there is an allergy or hypersensitivity to this ingredient. This medication may cause adverse reactions such as anxiety, nervousness, tremors, weakness, paleness, shortness of breath, urination difficulties, insomnia, hallucinations, seizures, cardiac arrhythmias, dizziness, and hypotension. Individuals sensitive to phenylephrine may experience increased heart rate, headache, dizziness, or nausea, but can be safely used at the appropriate dosage. Individuals sensitive to antihistamines may experience drowsiness or sedative effects. Additionally, dry mouth, dizziness, loss of appetite, vomiting, headache, nervousness, frequent urination, heartburn, diplopia, urination difficulties, and, rarely, dermatitis may occur. This medication can cause drowsiness, so taking it with alcohol, sedatives, or tranquilizers may exacerbate drowsiness. Caution is needed as children may occasionally exhibit excitatory reactions. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days of taking this medication or if a high fever occurs, consult a physician immediately. Do not consume alcohol while taking this medication, and avoid activities requiring attention such as driving vehicles or operating dangerous machinery. Take care not to exceed the prescribed dosage, and consult a physician immediately in case of overdose. If symptoms such as dizziness, insomnia, or nervousness occur, discontinue use and consult a physician. Store this medication out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. Do not transfer this medication from its original container to another container, and it should be kept in the original container to ensure safety and quality.
