Treatment of acute pancreatitis and disseminated intravascular coagulation
This medication is used for the treatment of acute pancreatitis caused by abnormal activity of proteolytic enzymes, the acute phase of chronic relapsing pancreatitis, and postoperative acute pancreatitis. It is also effective for disseminated intravascular coagulation. It helps alleviate symptoms and assist in the treatment of these conditions. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of acute pancreatitis and coagulation disorders.
Pancreatitis: Dissolve 100 mg in 500 mL of 5% dextrose injection or Ringer's solution for intravenous infusion at a rate of less than 8 mL per minute. The initial dose is 100-300 mg per day (solution 500-1500 mL), and depending on symptoms, it may be reduced or supplemented with an additional 100-300 mg on the same day for intravenous infusion. Disseminated intravascular coagulation: 20-39 mg per kg of body weight over 24 hours.
This medication can rarely cause a severe allergic reaction known as anaphylactic shock, so it is essential to thoroughly evaluate the patient's condition before administration and to closely monitor the patient afterward. It should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this medication. When using this medication, adverse symptoms such as pain or redness at the injection site, rash, itching, hypotension, nausea, etc., may occur; if these symptoms manifest, administration should be immediately discontinued, and appropriate treatment must be provided. Care should be taken to avoid extravasation during injection, as ulcers or necrosis may occur at the injection site; if any abnormalities are noted at the injection site, the administration site should be changed or discontinued. This medication can cause a decrease in blood cell counts, especially agranulocytosis, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia, so the patient's blood status should be checked regularly. Electrolyte abnormalities, such as hyperkalemia, may occur; if any abnormal symptoms arise, administration should be promptly stopped. High doses should be avoided in pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, and elderly patients may require dose adjustments due to decreased bodily functions. When administering this medication via intravenous drip, rapid infusion can lead to hypotension, so it should be infused slowly at a rate of no more than 2.5 mg per kg of body weight per hour. Additionally, care should be taken when mixing with other injectable medications, as issues like cloudiness or drug degradation may arise, particularly avoiding mixing with amino acid infusion solutions or alkaline medications.
