This medication is an antibiotic effective against various bacteria, treating harmful agents such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, and Escherichia coli. It is primarily used for complicated skin and soft tissue infections, secondary infections in chronic respiratory diseases like chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, and infections in bronchiectasis. It is also effective for urinary tract infections like acute pyelonephritis, cystitis, and prostatitis, as well as bacterial dysentery, enteritis, and gynecological infections such as pelvic inflammatory disease, intrauterine infections, and various ophthalmic inflammations, otitis media, sinusitis, and periodontitis. Precautions

This medication may cause serious side effects related to tendons, such as tendonitis and tendon rupture. If any of these symptoms occur, use of this medication should be discontinued immediately, and fluoroquinolone antibiotics should not be used again. It is not recommended for patients with myasthenia gravis as it may exacerbate symptoms. This medication is only suggested for use when there are no alternative treatments for specific bacterial infections. Caution should be taken with elderly patients, those with impaired kidney function, and those taking steroids, as the risk of tendon rupture increases. As it may affect the central nervous system and trigger seizures or convulsions, it should be used cautiously in patients with a history of seizures. Patients with allergic reactions to this medication, growing children, pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use it. If severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, dyspnea, etc., occur during use, treatment should be stopped immediately and healthcare personnel should be consulted. Caution is advised while driving or operating machinery as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. This medication may interact with some drugs, so it is essential to inform healthcare personnel if taking other medications. Diabetic patients taking blood glucose control medications should carefully monitor blood glucose changes. In case of overdose, symptoms affecting the central nervous system and heart irregularities may appear, requiring immediate treatment. This medication may have elevated blood levels in elderly patients with decreased kidney function, necessitating dose adjustments.
