This medication is used for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and pruritus. It also helps improve symptoms when used in conjunction with hydrocortisone topical preparations for the treatment of eczema and dermatitis.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For adults and children over 6 years of age, administer 10mg of cetirizine hydrochloride orally once a day at bedtime. Patients sensitive to adverse reactions may take 5mg split into morning and evening doses, adjusting as necessary based on age and symptoms. Precautions

It is advisable to discontinue this medication before allergy testing, and caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery due to potential drowsiness or decreased reaction time. Finally, store this medication out of the reach of children and keep it in its original container to maintain safety and effectiveness.
