Precautions

This medication should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist before use by people who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day, as there is a risk of liver damage when taking this medication or other analgesics. Individuals with certain conditions or diseases should avoid taking this medication. For example, those who have previously shown allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients, have a history of asthma attacks, suffer from peptic ulcers, or have severe blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney impairment, or decreased heart function should refrain from use. Additionally, patients taking barbiturates or tricyclic antidepressants, those who consume alcohol, and those with lactose intolerance or specific genetic disorders should also avoid taking this medication. While taking this medication, since it contains acetaminophen, do not take it together with other acetaminophen products, as exceeding the daily maximum dosage can result in liver damage. Avoid taking other analgesics, cold medications, or sedatives as well. Before taking this medication, consult with a doctor or pharmacist if you or any family member have a history of allergies or have experienced allergic reactions to medications, if children are suspected or known to have chickenpox or influenza, or if there are thyroid disorders, diabetes, or high blood pressure. If symptoms such as hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, nausea, vomiting, severe skin rashes, jaundice, persistent high fever, or cough with difficulty breathing occur during treatment, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. With long-term use, regular blood tests and liver function tests should be performed to check for abnormalities, especially in children, the elderly, or patients in poor health, who should take the minimum dosage and be monitored for adverse reactions. It is advisable not to take this medication alongside other anti-inflammatory analgesics and not to use it for more than ten days for pain or three days for fever. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor. When taking this medication with the specific antibiotic flucloxacillin, there is a risk of a rare side effect known as high anion gap metabolic acidosis, so caution is needed. In cases of overdose, immediate treatment at a medical facility is required, even if symptoms are absent, as special medications for liver protection may be necessary. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It should also be stored in its original container to prevent misuse or quality deterioration.
