It is mainly effective for acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, asthma-like bronchitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, cystic fibrosis, postoperative pulmonary complications in adults, and acute and chronic bronchitis and cystic fibrosis in children. This medication is provided in a glass ampoule form, so care must be taken to avoid glass fragments when opening the container. Extra caution should be exercised when used by children or the elderly. It should not be administered to those who are allergic to this medication or any of its components. Caution should be exercised in patients with bronchial asthma or poor respiratory function as bronchospasm may occur, and if adverse symptoms present, administration should be halted immediately and appropriate treatment sought. It is advisable to avoid use in newborns unless it is not serious. Gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and diarrhea may occur when using this medication. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as hives, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, and bronchospasm may present. Moreover, a rapid heartbeat or high blood pressure may occur very rarely, and very rarely, severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis may occur. When used as an antidote at high doses via intravenous injection, symptoms similar to hypersensitivity reactions may occur, and severe hypertension may be induced, necessitating caution and immediate cessation of administration at the first sign of adverse symptoms. During usage, bronchial secretions may increase, so thorough observation is required, and if secretions do not drain naturally, appropriate measures such as suctioning or position changes should be implemented. For intramuscular injections, deep injection is recommended. When used for detoxification purposes, it is recommended to administer within 10 hours post-overdose. This medication may engage in chemical reactions when used with specific drugs, so caution is necessary when mixing or co-administering with other medications. There is not enough research regarding its use in pregnant women, so it should only be used when absolutely necessary. Nursing mothers should exercise caution as this medication may be transmitted through breast milk. Elderly patients may have reduced body function, so care should be taken and close monitoring is advised during administration.
