Improvement of allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis (allergic symptoms) and chronic urticaria
This medication is used for allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, dermatitis, and chronic urticaria.
Adults and children over 12 years: administer 10 mg once daily orally. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.
Children aged 6-11 years: administer 5 mg once daily. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.
This medication contains lactose, so caution should be exercised as diarrhea-like hypersensitivity reactions may occur in children or adolescents sensitive to lactose. Patients with allergies to the main component or additives of this medication, those with severe liver impairment, and patients with genetic conditions that prevent lactose digestion should not take this medication. Patients with liver function issues or a history of liver impairment should use this medication cautiously as it may worsen liver function. Patients with heart rhythm issues or those taking certain medications should consult a specialist before taking this medication, as it may affect heart rhythm. Rarely, this medication may cause side effects such as rapid heartbeat, drowsiness, nervousness, headache, nausea, diarrhea, and may result in elevated liver enzymes, skin rashes, or allergic reactions such as swelling. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur after taking this medication, so caution is necessary when driving or operating hazardous machinery. This medication is not suitable for treating emergency allergic reactions and should be adjusted under a doctor's guidance for long-term use. When taken with other antihistamines or certain antibiotics, the effectiveness may change; therefore, it is crucial to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously as its safety is not well established, and nursing mothers are advised to discontinue breastfeeding while taking this medication. The safety of this medication has not been established in children under 6 years old, so it is preferable not to use it in this age group. This medication should not be taken before allergy testing as it may affect the results. No specific toxic symptoms have been reported in case of overdose; however, monitoring of heart condition and vital signs is necessary, and appropriate treatment should be administered if needed. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and care should be taken as transferring it to another container may adversely affect the quality of the medication.
