Hello. This medication is used for various skin conditions such as allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, chronic simple eczema (neurodermatitis), atopic dermatitis, lupus erythematosus, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, insect bites, radiation dermatitis, and tinea. It is also helpful in treating alopecia areata. This medication effectively alleviates inflammation and improves symptoms such as itching, helping to maintain healthy skin. With consistent use, it can reduce the symptoms of skin diseases and promote recovery.
Dosage
Apply a suitable amount to the affected area, rubbing it in well, 3 to 4 times a day. Reduce the frequency of application to 1 to 2 times as symptoms improve.
Precautions
This medication should not be used in patients with certain skin infections or conditions. For example, it should not be administered if there are infections such as skin tuberculosis, herpes simplex, chickenpox, shingles, vaccinia, or syphilis. Patients with allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients should also avoid using it. It should not be administered to patients with eczema otitis externa who have a perforated tympanic membrane due to the risk of infection. Patients with skin ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite should avoid its use as skin healing may be delayed. Caution is advised as this medication may worsen symptoms in cases of bacterial, fungal, or viral skin infections. It is also recommended not to use this medication on patients with injections, acne, perioral dermatitis, or anal itching. This medication is not given to children under 2 years old. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously, particularly avoiding it during the first three months of pregnancy. Care should also be taken when used in children and the elderly, as there is a risk of side effects. This medication contains propylene glycol, so it should be used with caution in individuals who are allergic to this ingredient. During the use of this medication, if any signs of skin infection develop or worsen, the patient should consult a doctor immediately. Various skin adverse reactions such as steroid acne, skin atrophy, telangiectasia may also occur, so if symptoms arise, use should be discontinued and the doctor consulted. Long-term high-dose use may suppress pituitary and adrenal cortex function, necessitating regular check-ups. Extreme caution is required when applying near the eyes due to the risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma. Principally, this medication should not be used in conjunction with eczema or dermatitis accompanied by a skin infection, but if necessary, consideration for the use of antibiotics or antifungals, or combined treatment should be made. Long-term continuous use, especially in children, can lead to suppressive effects on adrenal function, so it should be avoided. The usage period on the face should be limited to within 5 days, and occlusive dressing methods should be avoided. As soon as symptoms improve, discontinue use as soon as possible. If symptoms worsen or do not improve, use should be stopped immediately. Improper use of topical steroids may result in withdrawal syndrome, so caution is required. Pregnant women or nursing mothers are advised not to use this medication for an extended period or extensively, as it may lead to growth disorders in children, requiring extra caution. The elderly also have a high risk of adverse reactions, so increased carefulness is necessary for high doses or prolonged use. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes, and it should not be used for non-therapeutic purposes such as after makeup or shaving.
