This medication is used to relieve fever and pain caused by colds, headaches, neuralgia, muscle pain, menstrual pain, and pain from sprains. It is also effective for toothache, joint pain, and rheumatic pain. Therefore, it helps improve various pain and inflammation symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As acetaminophen, 0.3-1.0 g is administered orally 3-4 times a day. A maximum of 4 g can be administered per day. Adjust dosages according to age, disease, and symptoms.

Precautions

This drug can put a strain on the liver; therefore, individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication or other antipyretic analgesics. If any unusual symptoms such as skin rashes or allergic reactions appear during the use of this medication, discontinuation should occur immediately, and medical personnel should be consulted. Caution must be taken not to exceed the maximum recommended dosage of 4,000 mg per day due to the acetaminophen content, and it should not be taken with other products containing acetaminophen. Individuals who are allergic to this medication or have peptic ulcers or severe liver, kidney, or heart dysfunction should not take it. People taking aspirin asthma or certain antidepressants, barbiturates, those who have consumed alcohol, or individuals with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should also not take this medication. Individuals with liver or kidney disease, peptic ulcers, blood disorders, heart dysfunction, asthma, elderly individuals, pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult medical personnel before taking this medication. If severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, rashes, vomiting, bleeding, or skin abnormal symptoms occur during use, the medication should be stopped immediately and a doctor or pharmacist consulted. Long-term users should regularly undergo blood tests and liver function tests, and if any abnormalities are found, the dosage should be adjusted or discontinued. It is advisable not to take this medication alongside anti-inflammatory analgesics, and it should not be used for pain relief purposes for more than 10 days or for fever relief for more than 3 days without the guidance of a doctor or pharmacist. In case of overdose, even in the absence of symptoms, one should go to the hospital immediately for liver protective treatment. Store out of the reach of children, and keep the medication in its original container for safety.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, mucocutaneous syndrome, difficulty or trouble breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory difficulties accompanied by cough + fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe general malaise.

Mild side effects

Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, pruritic rash, rash, fixed drug eruption, elevated AST, elevated ALT, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA), platelet function impairment (prolonged bleeding time), thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, methemoglobinemia, cyanosis, facial edema, hypotension, asthma attacks, blood disorders, liver damage, kidney toxicity, heart dysfunction, bleeding tendencies, possibility of worsening infections.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

This medication should not be taken with other anti-inflammatory analgesics, other products containing acetaminophen, barbiturate drugs, or tricyclic antidepressants. Consult a doctor or pharmacist when taking warfarin, lithium, or thiazide diuretics.
