This medication is used for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and pruritus. It is also used in conjunction with hydrocortisone topical preparations to alleviate symptoms related to eczema and dermatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children 6 years and older should receive 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride orally once daily before bedtime. Patients sensitive to side effects may take 5 mg split into morning and evening doses. The dose may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.
