Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, individuals who are allergic to any component of this medication or have shown hypersensitivity should not use it. Also, patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, gastrointestinal obstruction, or perforation may find this medication dangerous as it enhances gastrointestinal motility. Patients with prolactin-secreting tumors should not receive this medication as it may increase prolactin secretion. Additionally, patients taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or medications that prolong the QTc interval, those with moderate or severe liver impairment, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid using this medication. Patients with conditions such as prolonged cardiac conduction intervals, electrolyte imbalances, and heart diseases such as heart failure should also refrain from taking this medication. Patients with genetic metabolic disorders like lactose intolerance or galactose intolerance should be careful. Children, the elderly, patients with kidney impairment, or mild liver dysfunction, and those with a history of heart disease should use this medication with caution. When taking this medication, various adverse reactions may occur, including dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, diarrhea, rash, and excessive milk secretion. Particularly, at high doses or in patients with diabetic gastroparesis, prolactin-related side effects may be more common. For patients with impaired liver function, dosage adjustment is necessary, as this medication is metabolized in the liver. Patients with severe renal impairment should reduce the frequency and dosage, and regular checks are necessary during long-term treatment. Patients with a history of breast cancer should be cautious due to the potential increase in prolactin secretion. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur after taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Due to the risk of cardiac arrhythmias, patients with heart disease or the elderly should be especially careful, and if any cardiac-related symptoms arise, they should consult a doctor immediately. This medication may interact with various drugs, so if you are taking other medications, you must consult with a healthcare professional. Caution is especially necessary when taking combinations with CYP3A4 inhibitors, drugs that prolong the QT interval, anticholinergics, and antacids. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid this medication, and if breastfeeding, consultation with a doctor is necessary due to potential side effects in the infant. In children, the dosage is limited according to weight, and caution should be taken, especially in infants under one year of age, as they may exhibit neurological adverse reactions. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, seizures, drowsiness, and extrapyramidal symptoms may occur, requiring ECG monitoring and appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container to maintain quality. In summary, before taking this medication, the patient's condition and medical history should be carefully reviewed, attention should be paid to adverse reactions and drug interactions, and special caution is required for pregnant women, children, and the elderly.
