Improvement of hepatic encephalopathy due to acute and chronic liver dysfunction and amino acid supply effect.
This medicine is used to improve hepatic encephalopathy caused by acute and chronic liver dysfunction. It also helps supplement the amino acids required for patients with liver dysfunction to aid in the recovery of liver function. It is a medication that actively supports the health of patients with impaired liver function.
Administered intravenously as a drip infusion at a maximum dosage of 1-1.5 g of total amino acids per kg of body weight per day. The infusion rate should ideally maintain a concentration of about 10 g of total amino acids over 60 minutes, and it is recommended to administer 30-40 drops per minute.
In pediatric cases, the dosage and infusion rate should be appropriately adjusted.
This medication must be used exactly as directed by a physician. It should not be used in patients with severe renal impairment or hypernitrogenemia, patients with amino acid metabolic disorders other than liver dysfunction, patients with metabolic disorders involving nitrogen utilization issues, patients with severe heart failure or pulmonary edema, or patients with very low or no urine output. Administration should also be avoided in patients with hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, alkalosis, or specific heart diseases. Caution is advised when administering to patients with severe acidosis, congestive heart failure, or renal impairment, and asthma patients should be particularly vigilant as allergic reactions or asthma attacks may occur due to the sodium pyruvate content in this drug. Adverse reactions such as rash, nausea, vomiting, chest discomfort, palpitations, and hypertension may occur during use, and rapid administration of large doses may lead to metabolic acidosis. Additionally, chills, fever, headache, dyspnea, shock, and bronchospasm may rarely occur, so administration should be discontinued immediately if any abnormal symptoms arise. Electrolyte imbalances may occur with large doses, so careful monitoring of electrolyte status is essential, and patients with diabetes should regularly check blood glucose levels. As this medication may interact with other drugs, caution is needed, especially when used in conjunction with tetracycline antibiotics, calcium salts, and vitamin B1. For pregnant women, safety has not been established, so it should be administered cautiously only when the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks. In children, the infusion concentration should be kept low as liver function may be immature, and blood ammonia levels should be monitored frequently. In the elderly, caution is required due to decreased physiological function, including slower administration rates and adjusted dosages. During administration, maintaining electrolyte balance is essential, and it should not be infused quickly; warming the solution to body temperature is recommended. Preparation and management of the infusion must be conducted under sterile conditions, and discolored or cloudy solutions should not be used. When storing, the container should be kept sealed to prevent air or moisture intrusion, and direct sunlight exposure should be avoided while storing at room temperature to maintain the drug's effectiveness.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This drug should be stored in a sealed container to prevent air and moisture from entering, and it is best kept at room temperature away from direct sunlight to maintain its efficacy.
