This medication is effective against various bacteria including Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus. It is primarily used for respiratory infections excluding acute bronchitis and pneumonia occurring in the community. It is also effective for infections of the ear, nose, throat, bacterial prostatitis, acute urinary tract infections, gonococcal cervicitis, and urethritis. It is utilized in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections, biliary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, and peritonitis. However, fluoroquinolone medications should only be used for acute bacterial rhinosinusitis, chronic bronchitis, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections when no other treatment options are available due to the risk of certain side effects. This medication is used to treat various bacterial infections.

How to take

Precautions

This medication can cause serious side effects such as tendinitis, tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects. If these symptoms occur, use should be stopped immediately. This medication should not be administered to patients with myasthenia gravis as it may worsen symptoms. This medication is indicated for specific infections only and should be administered cautiously only when no other treatment options are available. Elderly patients, patients with impaired renal function, and those using corticosteroids are at increased risk of tendon rupture and should be monitored carefully. Pregnant women, nursing mothers, individuals under 18 years of age, and those with epilepsy should not use this medication. This medication may interact with various other drugs, so consult with a doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. During the course of this medication, avoid strong sunlight exposure, and if photoreaction occurs, discontinue use immediately. Blood sugar fluctuations may occur, so diabetic patients should monitor their blood sugar levels closely. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea or abdominal pain occur after administration, inform medical personnel immediately as there may be a risk of pseudomembranous colitis. Caution is required when driving or operating machinery, and the risk of side effects may increase when alcohol is consumed with this medication.
