Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. The contained ingredient Rheum may contract the uterus, increasing the risk of premature birth or miscarriage. Additionally, breastfeeding women should not take this medication, as some components of Rheum can transfer into breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with a genetic disorder that affects lactose digestion should avoid taking it. Patients with high blood pressure, the elderly, those with heart or kidney problems, and individuals with edema should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Those currently on other medications, experiencing diarrhea, or having a weak stomach should also consult a specialist prior to use. Caution is advised for those who have previously experienced allergic reactions such as skin rashes or itching due to medications. If unusual symptoms such as swelling of the face or hands and feet or elevated blood pressure occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Symptoms such as muscle weakness, cramps, indigestion, vomiting, diarrhea, or skin rashes may indicate side effects of this medication, and you should stop use and consult a healthcare provider. Furthermore, if symptoms do not improve after 5 to 6 days of use, cessation and professional evaluation are necessary. It is essential to adhere to the prescribed usage and dosage of this medication, as the laxative effect of Rheum may vary per individual, calling for caution. Prolonged use of stimulant laxatives can lead to tolerance and exacerbation of constipation, so it is advisable to avoid continuous use for more than one week. When taking with other herbal medicines, care should be taken to avoid overlapping ingredients, especially those containing Rheum. Caution is warranted when taking potassium supplements or medications containing licorice, or specific diuretics, as they may lead to hypokalemia or muscle weakness. This medication is generally not meant for prolonged use, and if long-term use is unavoidable, consultation with a healthcare professional is essential. During storage, it should be kept in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or humidity. The storage temperature should be maintained between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. Proper storage will help maintain the effectiveness and safety of the medication.
