Sodam Capsule 200 mg (Acetylcysteine)

Adult dose

In acute conditions, take 200 mg once, three times a day with a small amount of water before meals. In chronic conditions, take 200 mg once, twice a day with a small amount of water before meals.

Child dose

In acute conditions, children aged 6 to 14 years should take 200 mg once, twice a day with a small amount of water before meals. In chronic conditions, children aged 6 to 14 years should take 100 mg once, three times a day before meals.

This medication should not be taken by those who are allergic to it or any of its components. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should not take this medication. Children under 2 years of age should not take this medication. This medication contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues unable to digest lactose should not use it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must consult a doctor before taking this medication. Breastfeeding women should also consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication as it is uncertain whether it passes into breast milk. This medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5; patients allergic or sensitive to this ingredient should use it cautiously. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, mouth inflammation, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during use, immediately discontinue taking the medication and consult a doctor. If symptoms like hives, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, or bronchoconstriction in asthma patients occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Symptoms such as rapid heartbeat or high blood pressure may occur, and very rarely, serious allergic reactions can happen, so caution is required. Symptoms such as dyspnea have also been reported, so if these symptoms occur, consult a medical professional immediately. When taking this medication with antibiotics, it is recommended to take them at least 2 hours apart as they may affect each other's efficacy. Do not mix other medications into the solution of this medication. This medication should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children, and keeping it in the original packaging helps maintain the quality of the medication and prevents misuse.

Drug interactions

This medication should be taken with oral antibiotics at least 2 hours apart.
