Precautions

This medicine should not be administered to patients who have previously experienced shock reactions to it or have had allergic reactions to specific local anesthetics. Caution is advised when administering this medicine to patients with a history of allergy to this medication or similar antibiotics, especially patients predisposed to bronchial asthma or skin allergic symptoms. Patients with severe renal disease, those unable to take orally, elderly patients, and those in poor overall condition may exhibit symptoms of vitamin K deficiency, so their condition should be closely monitored. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain or diarrhea occur, consult a physician immediately, as serious colitis can occur rarely and caution is warranted. This medication can occasionally cause side effects such as dyspnea, fever, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, and kidney impairment; thus, if any unusual symptoms appear, administration should be stopped immediately and healthcare professionals informed. To prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, it is advisable to check susceptibility and administer for the minimum necessary duration. Thorough medical history and skin testing should be conducted before administration to prepare for shock reactions, and monitoring the patient in a stable condition during administration is crucial. Caution is needed when using this medication in combination with other specific antibiotics or drugs, as they may affect renal function. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only be administered this medication if its benefits outweigh potential risks, as its safety has not been established; caution is also advised during breastfeeding. The safety of this medication has not been confirmed in newborns or infants under 6 months, and children over 6 months may experience transient changes in blood test values, so they should follow the physician's direction. Elderly patients generally have decreased bodily functions and pose a higher risk of side effects, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted and undertaken with caution. This medication may interfere with some clinical test results, so it is advisable to inform healthcare professionals that this medication is being taken during testing. When administering injections, care must be taken with the injection method and speed to prevent phlebitis or injection site pain, and intramuscular injections should be used as sparingly as possible, avoiding use in newborns or children. After reconstitution, it should be used as soon as possible, and if any precipitate forms or if the color changes during storage, it should not be used. Finally, this medication may affect the efficacy of oral contraceptives, so caution is advised when taken together.
