How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Administer 300 mg per dose orally 2~3 times daily. When administered for acute respiratory disease, do not administer continuously for more than 10 days.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by anyone who is allergic to this drug or its components. It should not be administered to patients with cirrhosis or those with cystathionine synthase deficiency as its metabolites may affect methionine metabolism. It is also advisable to avoid this medication in patients with peptic ulcer disease. For patients with severe renal impairment and those with severe liver dysfunction, this medication should not be given. Patients with mild to moderate liver impairment should exercise caution when using this medication and should not exceed 300 mg per day. Patients with diabetes or those on a low-calorie diet should be particularly careful when using the syrup formulation of this medication. This medication contains the coloring agent Yellow No. 5, so individuals allergic or hypersensitive to this ingredient should take caution. Overdose may cause excessive sweating, dizziness, and flushing. Neurological and respiratory system adverse reactions such as headache, cold symptoms, and dyspnea may occur. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as taste abnormalities, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and heartburn may also appear. Skin reactions such as hives, erythema, and eczema may occur. Additionally, fatigue, indigestion, palpitations, swelling of the face or body, itching, weakness, confusion, and rash have been reported. Taking expectorants and cough medicines together may make it difficult to expel mucus from the bronchi, raising the risk of bronchial infection and bronchospasm, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant, potentially pregnant, or breastfeeding are advised to avoid using this medication as its safety has not been conclusively proven.
