Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, it may be dangerous for patients allergic to this medication or those with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation. Additionally, patients with prolactin-secreting tumors or moderate to severe liver impairment, as well as pregnant women or women who could become pregnant, should also not use this medication. Patients with conditions such as prolonged cardiac conduction intervals, electrolyte imbalances, or heart diseases such as heart failure should avoid this medication. This medication contains lactose and is also unsuitable for patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance. Use with caution in children, patients with kidney or mild liver impairment, elderly patients, and patients with a history of heart disease. Especially for elderly patients, it is important to consult a doctor prior to use as this medication may increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmias. Side effects may include dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, diarrhea, rash, and galactorrhea. Additionally, serious adverse reactions such as anaphylaxis, dizziness, seizures, and arrhythmias have been reported rarely. As metabolism primarily occurs in the liver, caution should be exercised in patients with liver damage, and dosage and frequency should be adjusted for patients with severely impaired kidney function. Patients with a history of breast cancer should receive special care due to increased prolactin secretion. This medication may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery after taking it. Due to many potential interactions with other medications, particularly strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or drugs that prolong the QT interval, it should not be taken together with them, and careful monitoring should be exercised when taking other medications that may interact. Pregnant and nursing women are advised not to take this medication; if nursing, it may be necessary to discontinue breastfeeding or the medication due to potential heart problems in the baby. It is particularly inappropriate to administer to children, especially those weighing less than 35 kg, and caution should be taken as overdose may lead to neurological disorders. Elderly patients require careful dosage adjustment due to decreased physical function. In the event of overdose, symptoms such as agitation, dizziness, confusion, seizures, drowsiness, and Parkinsonism may occur, and prompt medical treatment and ECG monitoring is necessary as there is no specific antidote. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container to prevent misuse or deterioration of quality. This medication should be administered cautiously, taking into consideration liver and kidney function, heart condition, and other medications being taken, and it is important to consult a healthcare professional immediately in case of any adverse reactions.
