Precautions

This medication can cause serious adverse effects such as tendonitis or tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system disorders, so caution is necessary. Especially in patients with myasthenia gravis, symptoms may worsen, and this drug should not be used. This medication is restricted to specific bacterial infections and should only be administered when no other treatment options are available. In elderly patients or those with poor kidney function, and when taken with corticosteroids, the risk of tendon rupture increases, hence co-administration should be avoided. If there is pain or inflammation in the tendons, immediately stop taking the medication and rest. This drug may increase the risk of seizures, so patients with epilepsy or central nervous system disorders should use it cautiously, and should discontinue use immediately if seizures occur. It should not be given to pregnant women, women who are likely to become pregnant, nursing mothers, and children or adolescents under 18 years of age. Additionally, patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or who have previously experienced tendon-related side effects should not use it. This medication can interact with several other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to consult a specialist. During treatment, photosensitivity reactions may occur, so avoid strong sunlight or ultraviolet exposure, and if skin rashes or itching occur, stop using it immediately. Diabetic patients who require blood sugar control should monitor blood sugar changes closely, and if hypoglycemic symptoms occur, seek immediate treatment. This drug may affect kidney and liver function, so if any abnormal symptoms occur, consult your healthcare provider immediately. Overdose may cause renal toxicity, requiring emergency treatment and careful monitoring of kidney function. When storing, keep the medicine in a tightly sealed container away from children and avoid exposure to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light.
