Precautions

This medication is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by binding to specific proteins and obstructing cell wall synthesis. This medication should not be administered to patients who have had severe allergic reactions or shock in the past to this drug or similar antibiotics. Additionally, caution should be exercised when giving this drug to individuals allergic to penicillin antibiotics or those with asthma, rashes, urticaria, or any other allergic constitution, severely impaired kidney function, elderly patients, nutritionally compromised patients, and those with gastrointestinal disorders. This drug may rarely cause shock or severe allergic reactions, so symptoms should be closely monitored during administration, and if severe rashes or ulcers appear on the skin, usage should be immediately discontinued. Regular checks are necessary since there may be a decrease in blood cell counts or abnormalities in liver and kidney function. If abnormalities are found, the medication should be stopped. Gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and if severe colitis symptoms develop, the doctor must be informed immediately. Additionally, respiratory symptoms, central nervous system symptoms, stomatitis, and vitamin deficiency symptoms may appear rarely, so careful observation is necessary. This medicine should only be used for the minimal required duration to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, and the history of allergies must be thoroughly checked before administration. When taken with other medications, interactions may occur, particularly with drugs affecting the kidneys, anticoagulants, and oral contraceptives. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication cautiously, as its safety has not been fully established. It should only be used when necessary, and caution is required to avoid affecting the infant while breastfeeding. It is advisable not to use this drug in newborns under 1 month of age as its safety has not been confirmed. Elderly individuals may experience side effects more readily due to decreased bodily functions, so use should be carefully adjusted regarding dosage and intervals. Some urine tests may yield false positive results during the course of this medication, so caution is needed in interpreting testing outcomes.
