Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as the rhubarb component may cause uterine contractions, increasing the risk of miscarriage or preterm birth. Breastfeeding women should also avoid this medication, as the components in rhubarb may pass into breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. Additionally, individuals with a genetic condition that prevents the breakdown of lactose should not take this medication, as it contains lactose and may worsen symptoms. People with hypertension or heart or kidney diseases must consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication, as it may exacerbate their conditions due to its effects on the body. Elderly individuals or those in poor health should also exercise caution, as their bodies may react more easily to adverse effects. Those experiencing diarrhea or loose stools, or who have a weak stomach, should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication, as their symptoms may worsen. It is also advisable for individuals currently taking other medications, or those who have previously experienced skin rashes or itching due to medications, to consult a professional for safety. During the use of this medication, it's essential to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and frequency. The constipation-relieving effect of rhubarb can vary widely among individuals, so overdosage should be avoided. Stimulant laxatives may lead to tolerance and worsen constipation with long-term use, so they should not be taken for more than a week. If daily use of a laxative is necessary, the underlying cause should be investigated. Care must be taken to avoid duplication of ingredients when taking this medication with other herbal or pharmaceutical products, especially avoiding concurrent use with products containing rhubarb. Care should also be exercised when taking medications containing potassium or glycyrrhiza, or certain diuretics, as they may lead to hypokalemia or muscle weakness as side effects. If while taking this medication, you experience swelling of the face or extremities, increased blood pressure, or headaches, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. If weakness in muscles or paralysis symptoms occur, stop taking the medication immediately and seek medical attention. Discontinue use and seek consultation if gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or skin rashes and itching occur. If symptoms do not improve after 5-6 days of use, you should stop taking the medication and consult a healthcare professional. This medication should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and kept out of reach of children. It should also be stored in its original container with the lid tightly closed, as transferring it to another container may reduce its quality.
