This medication contains the dye Yellow No. 5; patients who have had allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to this component should take it with caution. As this medication may cause drowsiness, it is advisable to avoid driving vehicles or operating dangerous machinery. Higher doses may exacerbate drowsiness, so dose adjustments should be made carefully. Patients receiving long-term steroid therapy should gradually decrease the steroid while taking this medication and must be monitored by healthcare professionals. For seasonal symptoms, it is best to start taking this medication before symptoms begin and continue until symptoms subside. This medication has a central nervous system depressant effect, so combining it with sedatives or antihistamines may potentiate its effects, requiring caution. Alcohol consumption may worsen side effects like drowsiness; therefore, it is advisable to avoid alcohol. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only take this medication based on a healthcare professional's advice, as its safety is not well established. Breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication, as it may be excreted in breast milk. If necessary, it is preferable to discontinue breastfeeding temporarily. Caution is advised as safety for infants and young children has not been sufficiently established. Elderly patients may have diminished physical function, so it's best to start with a lower dose and take it cautiously. This medication may affect allergy test results if taken before testing; therefore, do not take it before such tests. Being an extended-release capsule, it must be swallowed whole and must not be opened, chewed, or crushed for consumption. Store in a safe place out of reach of children, and avoid transferring the medication to another container, as this may lead to accidents or quality degradation.
