Precautions

This medication should be used with caution in patients with liver function problems or a history of liver disease. It is important to regularly check liver status as liver function abnormalities may occur. Symptoms of central nervous system abnormalities, such as numbness of the tongue, memory impairment, drowsiness, headaches, and dizziness, may manifest during the course of taking this medication. In the gastrointestinal tract, symptoms such as dry mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, and constipation may occur, so caution is advised. Cardiovascular symptoms, such as increased heart rate or elevated blood pressure, may also occur. Rarely, there may be blood-related abnormalities, such as decreased white blood cell or platelet counts, necessitating blood tests. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may include jaundice or elevated liver enzyme levels, and in such cases, the medication should be discontinued and medical attention sought. It may affect kidney function, so any urinary abnormalities or frequent urination should be discussed with a physician. If skin rashes or itching occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Symptoms related to the eyes, such as photophobia or eye pain, may also occur rarely. Other symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, menstrual irregularities, chest pain, facial flushing, swelling, bitter taste, and dry nose should also be monitored. This medication can cause drowsiness, so care should be taken when driving or operating dangerous machinery, and patients should be aware that it may affect daily activities. Higher doses may result in increased drowsiness, so adherence to the prescribed dosage is critical. Patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment should carefully consider reducing the steroid dosage when taking this medication and should gradually adjust under the supervision of a specialist. Seasonal allergy patients should start taking it before symptoms begin and continue until symptoms resolve. Taking antipsychotics or other antihistamines together may enhance central nervous system depressant effects, so caution is necessary. Consumption of alcohol may exacerbate central nervous system side effects such as drowsiness, so it is advisable to avoid drinking. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully weigh the risks and benefits of taking this medication, while breastfeeding women should avoid it if possible and discontinue breastfeeding if it is unavoidable. Safety in infants and children has not been sufficiently established, so caution is advised. Older adults may have reduced body functions, so it's important to start with a lower dosage and monitor carefully. This medication may affect allergy test results, so it should not be taken before testing. As an extended-release formulation, the capsule must be swallowed whole and should not be divided, chewed, or crushed. It should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container is not recommended as it may affect product quality.
