Especially in newborns under 28 days of age, administering this medication with calcium-containing solutions can cause life-threatening side effects, so it should not be administered. Individuals allergic to this medication or with hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins should not use it. This medication should not be given to premature infants or newborns at risk of bilirubin conjugation disorders, as it could risk causing bilirubin encephalopathy. Patients with severe renal impairment or a history of drug allergies should use this medication cautiously, and dosage or interval adjustments may be necessary. During treatment, regular monitoring of liver and kidney function, as well as blood tests, should be conducted, and if any abnormal signs appear, healthcare professionals should be consulted immediately. Rarely, side effects such as hives, rashes, diarrhea, and increased liver enzymes may occur, so report any symptoms immediately. In case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, treatment should be symptomatic, and caution should be exercised regarding dizziness when driving or operating machinery. Children and the elderly should be closely monitored and dosage adjusted as necessary, especially in neonates or premature infants where safety is a concern. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is crucial to inform the healthcare provider of any current medications, especially when using calcium agents, diuretics, or aminoglycoside antibiotics.
