Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with cardiogenic shock, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers. It is also advisable not to administer it to children as safety is not established. Caution is needed for patients with severely decreased liver function, elderly patients, and those with excessively low blood pressure. Monitor liver function closely as abnormal liver function or symptoms of jaundice may appear during treatment with this medication. It may also affect kidney function, so blood tests to check kidney function are necessary. Be cautious as blood abnormalities such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia can also occur. Symptoms of cardiovascular issues such as palpitations, facial flushing, and low blood pressure may occur, and immediate notification is required if these symptoms develop. Neurological side effects such as headache, dizziness, and drowsiness have also been reported, so caution is advised when driving or operating hazardous machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms like constipation, nausea, and abdominal discomfort may occur. If hypersensitivity reactions like rashes or itching occur, discontinue the medication and consult a doctor. Swelling of the face, hands, or legs may occur, and in rare cases, gynecomastia may appear; in such cases, treatment should be stopped. Abrupt discontinuation of this medication may worsen symptoms; therefore, it should be reduced gradually according to a doctor's recommendation. Symptoms may present as excessively low blood pressure or transient fainting; in such cases, immediate consultation with healthcare providers is necessary. When taken with other antihypertensives or specific medications, interactions may enhance effectiveness or increase side effects, so caution is needed. Pregnant or nursing women should preferably avoid this medication; if unavoidable, breastfeeding should be discontinued. Elderly patients should start at a lower dose, be closely monitored, and be treated cautiously. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop significantly; appropriate treatment such as fluid replacement and vasoconstrictors may be needed in emergencies. This medication must be used according to the doctor's prescription and instructions, and one should not arbitrarily discontinue or adjust the dosage.
