Precautions

This medication should not be taken by anyone with an allergic reaction to this drug or its ingredients. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum or children under 2 years of age should not use this medication. This medication contains lactose, and persons with genetic disorders that impair lactose digestion should not take it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication if necessary, as there is insufficient research on its effects on pregnant women, hence caution is advised. Breastfeeding women should also consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking it, as it is unclear whether this medication passes into breast milk. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur while taking this medication; if any unusual symptoms appear, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional immediately. If allergic reactions such as hives, itching, rash, headache, ringing in the ears, or bronchospasm occur, discontinue the medication and consult a physician right away. This medication can rarely cause increased heart rate or elevated blood pressure, and very rarely severe allergic reactions known as anaphylaxis may occur. If respiratory distress symptoms occur, immediate medical attention should be sought. When taking this medication, it is advisable to take it at least 2 hours apart from certain antibiotics, to avoid reducing their effectiveness. Do not mix medications; avoid mixing other drugs in the solution of this medication. This medication should be stored in a secure place out of reach of children and kept in its original container to maintain the quality and prevent misuse. Inhalation forms of this medication can cause bronchospasm in patients with bronchial asthma or poor respiratory function, hence caution is required. Inhalation may produce a mild sulfur odor or symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite, and less commonly may cause blood-stained sputum, chills, fever, and drowsiness. Excessive bronchial secretions may occur, so if symptoms worsen, consult a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment. Inhalation solutions may have reduced efficacy if mixed with antibiotics, so it is best to administer them separately. This medication is not used as an injection or eye drops, and the mask used after nebulization may adhere to the face but can be easily cleaned with water. Elderly patients may have decreased physical function, so they should be observed closely and used cautiously. After use, the nebulizer must be cleaned immediately, and it is important not to keep the solution in contact with it for a long time. Certain antibiotics mixed with this medication may cause sedimentation or discoloration, so they should not be mixed. When nebulizing, it is advisable to dilute the medication with sterile distilled water for injection to prevent concentration.
