This medication is used to relieve difficulty in sputum expectoration symptoms in patients with acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

How to take

Adult dose

Acute conditions: 200 mg once, three times a day Chronic conditions: 200 mg once, twice a day

Child dose

Acute conditions (6-14 years): 200 mg once, twice a day Chronic conditions (6-14 years): 100 mg once, three times a day Cystic fibrosis (6 years and older): 200 mg once, three times a day

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to specific ingredients. It is also advisable for those with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum not to use this medication. Children under the age of 2 should not take this medication. Additionally, individuals with a genetic disorder that prevents lactose digestion should not use this medication. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication. Women who are breastfeeding should also use this medication cautiously as it is uncertain whether it is excreted in breast milk. If digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, mouth inflammation, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a professional. If allergic reactions such as hives, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, or shortness of breath occur, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a physician. When taken with certain antibiotics, this medication may reduce the effectiveness of the antibiotics, so it is advisable to take them at least 2 hours apart. Store this medication in a place out of children's reach and keep it in its original container to maintain quality. When used for inhalation, individuals with asthma or respiratory issues should consult a doctor before use, and discontinue use immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur. While inhaling, caution is advised as mild odors, nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite may arise, and if sputum production increases, appropriate treatment should be sought. Inhalation medications should not be mixed with antibiotics and should not be used as injections or eye drops. After using an inhaler, the mask should be washed with water, and the elderly should use it carefully while monitoring their physical condition. Inhalers should also be stored out of children's reach and kept in their original containers. The inhalation spray device should be cleaned immediately after use, and it is better to avoid mixing with other medications. Care should be taken during nebulization to ensure that the drug concentration does not become too high, and if necessary, it is advisable to dilute it with sterile distilled water.
