Relief of cough and phlegm
This medication is used to relieve respiratory symptoms such as cough and phlegm.
Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older should take 2 tablets per dose, 3 times a day after meals.
Children aged 12 to less than 15 years should take 1 tablet per dose, 3 times a day after meals.
This medication should not be used in patients under 18 years of age who are obese or have obstructive sleep apnea syndrome or severe pulmonary disease due to an increased risk of severe respiratory suppression. Patients who are allergic to this medication or have a history of hypersensitivity, those taking MAO inhibitors or who have discontinued them less than 2 weeks prior, children under 12 years old, nursing women, glaucoma patients, patients with lower urinary tract obstructive diseases such as prostatic hypertrophy, and those with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients with allergies to the drug, previous allergic reactions to medications, liver or kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, the elderly, pregnant women or those with a possible pregnancy, those with increased intraocular pressure or urinary disturbances should use this medication with caution. Drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so it is safest to avoid driving or operating machinery. It is advisable not to take this medication with other cough and expectorant agents, cold medications, antihistamines, sedatives, and further sedatives might enhance drowsiness when taken with alcohol or central nervous system depressants. Pregnant or nursing women should preferably avoid taking this medication, especially nursing mothers, as it can be transmitted through breast milk and affect the baby. Overdose in children can result in symptoms like hallucinations, convulsions, and severe respiratory suppression, so it is safest to refrain from using this medication in children under 12 years. Elderly patients may experience reduced bodily function, so their condition should be carefully monitored while taking this medication. Patients should comply with the prescribed dosage and administration, avoid overdose or prolonged use, and consult a doctor immediately if unusual symptoms occur. This medication should be stored out of reach of children in a container that blocks light and air, kept in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight.
