Precautions

This medication is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by disrupting their cell wall synthesis. Before using this medication, you must inform the healthcare provider if you have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock in the past. Patients allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics or penicillin should exercise particular caution, and individuals with a history of allergies, asthma, or frequent skin rashes should use it cautiously. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, or those with poor nutritional status require close observation during the use of this medication due to an increased risk of bleeding. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease should be cautious as taking this medication may worsen gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood anomalies, liver or kidney function abnormalities, severe enteritis, respiratory issues, or neurologic symptoms; thus, if any unusual symptoms occur, you should immediately inform a doctor. To prevent antibiotic-resistant bacteria, it is essential to identify the infection source and take the medication only for the minimum necessary duration. When taking this medication with other drugs, drug interactions may occur; therefore, especially if you are taking medications that affect the kidneys, anticoagulants, or oral contraceptives, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication cautiously since its safety has not been fully established, and a healthcare provider's judgment is required. It is advisable not to use this medication in neonates under one month of age as its safety and efficacy have not been confirmed. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more easily due to decreased bodily functions, so dosage adjustment and monitoring are necessary. Some clinical test results may be affected when taking this medication, so you should inform the medical staff of any usage before tests.
