It may also affect kidney function, so renal function should be checked with blood tests, and if abnormalities occur, the medication should be stopped. Since white blood cell counts may decrease, blood conditions should be monitored, and if issues arise, administration should be halted. If skin rashes or itching occur as hypersensitive reactions, medication should be stopped immediately. This medication may induce circulatory symptoms such as facial flushing, warmth, palpitations, or rarely, chest pain. There may be neurological effects such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, so caution is advised for these symptoms. Gastrointestinal side effects may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, constipation, appetite loss, heartburn, and diarrhea. In patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis, peritoneal effluent may become cloudy, thus caution should be taken not to confuse it with an infection. This medication can lower blood pressure abruptly, so it should not be stopped suddenly; rather, dosage should be gradually reduced according to a physician's instructions. If blood pressure drops too low, measures such as reducing the dosage or temporarily discontinuing the medication may be necessary. It is advisable to avoid hazardous activities such as high-altitude work or driving due to dizziness. When taken with other antihypertensive medications, the effect may be amplified, so caution is needed. This medication may be transmitted through breast milk; thus, if breastfeeding, it is recommended to either avoid taking it or to stop breastfeeding. For the elderly, starting with a low dose is necessary to prevent excessive lowering of blood pressure, and their condition should be closely monitored.
