Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so those with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid taking it. Patients with hyperthyroidism, hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, diabetes, or severe kidney impairment should be especially cautious while using this medication. This medication contains Yellow No. 4 (tartrazine), and caution is needed if there is an allergy or hypersensitivity to this ingredient. Symptoms such as headache, tremors, muscle stiffness, drowsiness, anxiety, dizziness, insomnia, palpitations, changes in blood pressure, and arrhythmias may occur during treatment, so if any unusual symptoms appear, consult a doctor immediately. If allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, angioedema, urticaria, bronchospasm, or hypotension occur, the medication should be discontinued. In case of overdose, heart issues may arise, so it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration; if there is no effect, do not continue taking the medication arbitrarily. Particularly when administering to children, precise usage instructions should be provided, and the course should be monitored carefully. This medication may lower serum potassium levels, so extra caution is needed when taken together with steroids or diuretics, and regularly checking blood potassium levels is advisable. The combination of this medication with other sympathomimetics such as epinephrine or isoproterenol increases the risk of heart side effects and should be avoided. Care must be taken when using it together with MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants, as vascular side effects may increase. It should not be used in conjunction with non-selective beta-blockers, and caution is warranted if taking multiple sympathomimetics. During pregnancy, the safety of this medication is not confirmed; therefore, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult with a doctor and take it cautiously, especially during the first three months of pregnancy. Elderly patients may have reduced bodily functions, so special caution is required, such as dosage adjustment. Symptoms of overdose usually resolve after stopping the medication, but cardiac selective beta-blockers may be used as an antidote; however, caution is needed in patients with a history of bronchospasm. Finally, when changing the dosage of the active ingredient in this medication, severe allergic reactions can occur rarely, so patients with unique constitutions should be particularly careful.
