Precautions

This drug is not approved for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age who have major depressive disorder or psychiatric disorders, as there may be an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in this age group. Careful monitoring is required when administering this drug to patients with a risk of suicidal tendencies, especially among young adults aged 18 to 24. Patients and caregivers should closely monitor for any unusual behavioral changes such as suicidal thoughts, aggression, and anger. Prolonged erection may occur; if this happens, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Patients allergic to this drug or its components, those with certain heart conditions, alcohol dependence, or those taking specific medications (e.g., MAO inhibitors, saquinavir) should not use this drug. Patients with heart disease, glaucoma, convulsive disorders, bipolar disorder, or liver or kidney dysfunction should use this drug with caution. This medication may cause drowsiness or decreased concentration; caution should be exercised when driving or operating hazardous machinery. Regular blood tests should be conducted to monitor white blood cell counts, and if signs of infection appear, medical attention should be sought immediately. This drug may interact with other medications, so it is essential to inform the doctor of any current medications, particularly when used in conjunction with blood pressure medications, anticoagulants, certain antidepressants, or sedatives. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of using this drug, and breastfeeding women should avoid use or discontinue breastfeeding. When administering this drug to the elderly, dose adjustments should be made considering declining physical functions. Abruptly discontinuing this medication may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, headache, anxiety, and sleep disturbances, so it should be tapered off under a doctor’s guidance. Severe adverse reactions may occur in cases of overdose, and immediate medical attention should be sought. Finally, this drug should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in its original container to maintain quality.
