Anax Tablet (Naproxen Sodium)

Adult dose

1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis Adults should take 275-550mg of naproxen sodium orally twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout Adults should take an initial dose of 825mg of naproxen sodium orally and then 275mg every 8 hours until the attack subsides. 3. Skeletal muscle disorders, postoperative pain, pain after tooth extraction, dysmenorrhea, tendinitis, bursitis Adults should take an initial dose of 550mg of naproxen sodium orally, followed by 275mg every 6-8 hours, ensuring that the total daily dosage does not exceed 1350mg. 4. Migraine Adults should take an initial dose of 825mg of naproxen sodium orally. If necessary, an additional 275-550mg can be administered during the day, given 30 minutes after the initial dose. The total daily dosage should not exceed 1350mg. Adjustments should be made according to age and symptoms.

This medication should be used with caution by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages per day, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding; consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential. This medication may affect the cardiovascular system, increasing the risk of serious thrombotic reactions such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Patients with cardiovascular disease or risk factors require particular caution. Additionally, this drug can cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation; the risk may be higher in the elderly or those taking it for an extended period. If symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding occur during use, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, blood disorders, liver or kidney disease, hypertension, asthma, or hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should avoid this medication. Patients with a past history of peptic ulcers, blood abnormalities, liver or kidney diseases, hypertension, asthma, autoimmune diseases, etc., should take this medication cautiously and inform healthcare providers immediately if abnormal symptoms occur during use. This drug may cause various side effects, including allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood disorders, liver and kidney dysfunction, neurological abnormalities, skin rashes, etc., so if any abnormal symptoms appear, use should be discontinued and a physician consulted. The risk of side effects may increase when used in conjunction with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or certain medications, so individuals taking other drugs must inform their healthcare provider. Use should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in late pregnancy, as it can harm the fetus, and caution should be exercised during early or mid-pregnancy. Lactating women should avoid this medication as it may be transferred into breast milk and affect the newborn. In children under the age of 2, safety has not been established, so it is advisable not to administer it. The elderly have a higher risk of side effects, so it should be used cautiously at minimal dosages. Before taking this medication, regular blood tests or liver and kidney function tests should be conducted, and any abnormal findings should be reported to healthcare providers. In case of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting may occur, requiring immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored in a secure place out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may lead to quality degradation or accidents, so caution is advised.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eye mucosa, wheezing or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, abnormal breathing accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination.

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, naproxen derivatives, or high doses of methotrexate. It should also not be taken with hydantoin-class antiepileptic drugs, sulfonamides, sulfonylurea-type hypoglycemics, propranolol or other beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors (such as captopril), loop diuretics and thiazide diuretics, probenecid, aspirin, lithium, low doses of methotrexate, and coumarin-type anticoagulants (such as warfarin).

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air ingress, and it is safe to store at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C. Proper storage will help maintain the drug’s effectiveness and prevent degradation.
