Dosage

For oral use, apply an appropriate amount of the 0.1% ointment or paste to the affected area 1- multiple times a day. Adjust according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with tuberculous, viral, or other purulent infections in the oral cavity. Additionally, patients who have allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to this medication should avoid its use. It is also advisable not to use it in patients with syphilis, varicella, fungal infections, bacterial skin infections, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, or gingivitis due to vitamin C deficiency. This medication contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, and patients allergic to or sensitive to this ingredient should use it with caution. If there is an infection in the oral cavity, antifungal or antibacterial agents should be used in conjunction, and the medication should be discontinued if symptoms do not improve. The use of this medication may cause a numbness or discomfort in the mouth and can alter or dull taste. Rarely, allergic skin reactions may occur, so if unusual symptoms arise, immediate discontinuation of use is necessary. Prolonged use may suppress pituitary and adrenal cortex function, so caution is needed. Additionally, long-term use may lead to skin issues such as atopic dermatitis, telangiectasia, striae, steroid-induced acne, perioral dermatitis, and hirsutism. In cases of oral infections, it is best to avoid use, and if it is necessary, appropriate antibacterial or antifungal treatment should be done beforehand. After applying the medication, it is advisable not to eat immediately, and there may be discomfort at the application site. This medication should not be used in the eyes. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use it with caution as it may affect the fetus, and overdose or prolonged use should be avoided. Caution is necessary for children or adolescents as prolonged usage may affect growth. Elderly patients should be carefully monitored for infections, diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, cataracts, and glaucoma risks during prolonged use. Additionally, this medication is intended for application on the oral mucosa and should not be swallowed, and when using, saliva should be applied to the fingers to attach the tablet to the affected area and pressed for 2-3 seconds. If the mucosa is wet with saliva, it may not adhere, so it is recommended to gently dry the area before use. Caution is needed to prevent children or adolescents from detaching the tablet with their fingers.
