This medication is used to relieve symptoms of cough and phlegm.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older: Take 2 tablets orally after meals, 3 times a day.

Child dose

Pediatric: For children aged 12 years to less than 15 years, take 1 tablet orally after meals, 3 times a day.

Precautions

This medication should be avoided in patients under 18 years of age who are obese or have obstructive sleep apnea syndrome or severe lung diseases, as it poses a high risk of severe respiratory depression. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components, those currently taking or who have recently discontinued MAO inhibitors, nursing women, patients with glaucoma, those with lower urinary tract obstructive diseases such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, and children under 12 years of age should not use this medication. Those with a history of allergic reactions, liver or kidney diseases, thyroid disorders, diabetes, or those who are weak, elderly patients with cardiovascular diseases, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, persons with increased intraocular pressure or urinary tract issues, patients with specific cough symptoms, gastrointestinal diseases, epilepsy, etc., should use this medication cautiously. This medication may cause various side effects, including shock, allergic reactions, gastrointestinal issues, neurological problems, urinary tract issues, heart and blood-related problems, and respiratory issues, and any unusual symptoms should be discussed with healthcare providers immediately. Since drowsiness may occur, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery and to be cautious not to overdose or use it for prolonged periods. It should not be combined with other cough suppressants, cold medications, antihistamines, or sedatives, and concomitant use with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can worsen drowsiness. During pregnancy or in women who may become pregnant, the safety of this medication has not been established, so it should only be used cautiously if necessary, and nursing mothers should not take it as it may interfere with lactation. This medication should never be administered to children under 12 years of age due to the significant risk of respiratory depression, and elderly patients should be monitored closely as their physical function may decline.
