In these cases, the drug may worsen the condition. In patients who are pregnant or in special situations such as newborns or those with heart failure, this drug should be administered cautiously due to a higher risk of side effects. Excessive administration of this drug can lead to various serious side effects such as electrolyte imbalance, muscle spasms, respiratory distress, and cardiac arrhythmias. If these symptoms occur, administration should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be received. Inflammation or tissue damage may occur at the site of administration, so care must be taken to inject it precisely into the vein. Additionally, there may be rare side effects such as neurological abnormalities, fever, and nausea. When administering this drug, blood acidity and carbon dioxide levels should be monitored regularly to prevent alkalosis. Also, sufficient ventilation is essential during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Interactions with other medications may occur, so patients on steroids, diuretics, potassium supplements, etc. should inform their doctor or pharmacist and use with caution. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should only use this drug when necessary, and it is advised to discontinue breastfeeding during treatment as the safety of this medication has not been established. When administered to newborns, if given at a high concentration, there is a risk of brain hemorrhage, so it should be diluted and administered slowly. Elderly patients require slower administration rates and dosage adjustments due to diminished physical function. In the case of overdose, treatment to control acidity and replenish electrolytes should be initiated immediately. This drug should not be mixed with other medications, and it must not be used with calcium-containing drugs to prevent precipitation. Before administration, check that the solution is clear, and once opened, use it immediately; any remaining medication should be discarded.
