How to take

Adult dose

For adults and adolescents aged 15 years and older, take 2 tablets at a time, 3 times a day after meals by mouth.

Child dose

For children aged 12 to under 15 years, take 1 tablet at a time, 3 times a day after meals by mouth.

Precautions

This medication should be avoided in patients under 18 years old, those with obesity, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, or severe lung disease, due to an increased risk of severe respiratory depression. Patients who have a hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, or have a history of such reactions, should not take it. Patients currently taking or who have stopped taking MAO inhibitors less than two weeks ago, such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and antiparkinsonian drugs, should also avoid this medication. This medication should not be given to children under 12 years, nursing mothers, patients with glaucoma, or those with lower urinary obstruction diseases such as prostate enlargement. Since it contains lactose, patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use it. Caution is advised in individuals with allergic conditions or a history of drug allergies, as well as those with liver, kidney, or thyroid disorders, diabetes, or those who are frail or have high fever. Patients with cardiovascular diseases, elderly individuals, pregnant women or those who could become pregnant, and patients with elevated intraocular pressure or urination problems should be careful. Those with respiratory diseases such as smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or a cough lasting more than a week should also exercise caution. This medication may cause drowsiness, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery while taking it. It should not be taken with other cold medications, sedatives, or antihistamines, and taking it with alcohol may intensify drowsiness. Its safety during pregnancy has not been established, so it should only be used cautiously when necessary, and nursing mothers are advised against use as it may pass into breast milk and affect the baby. In children, an overdose may lead to severe side effects, so special caution is necessary, and it should not be used in children under 12 years. Elderly patients should be monitored closely for adverse effects due to declining body functions. This medication may affect the results of some clinical tests, so it is important to inform healthcare providers before undergoing tests.
