Precautions

This medication should not be used by pregnant women in the first 3 months of pregnancy or women who may become pregnant. Additionally, patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication should not take it. Patients with liver function problems or a history of liver disorders should use this medication cautiously, as it may worsen liver function. During the use of this medication, bladder inflammation symptoms such as frequent urination, painful urination, hematuria, and a feeling of incomplete voiding may rarely occur, so if these symptoms arise, the medication should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be consulted. It is important to monitor liver status regularly, as liver function test results may increase or symptoms of hepatitis and jaundice may appear. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation may occur, so one should pay close attention to their health. Anemia or decreased blood cell symptoms may develop, so the condition should be confirmed through blood tests, and the medication should be discontinued if abnormalities are found. Neurological symptoms such as headache, drowsiness, dizziness, and insomnia may rarely occur. Skin rashes, itching, hives, erythema, and eczema may appear, and the medication should be stopped if these symptoms occur. Menstrual irregularities, palpitations, edema, facial flushing, stomatitis, and fever have been reported rarely. This medication is not a fast-acting drug like bronchodilators or steroids, so it is important to explain this adequately to patients. If a severe attack occurs in a patient with bronchial asthma while taking this medication, a bronchodilator or steroid should be used. It is advisable to regularly check white blood cell counts and eosinophil ratios through blood tests during the use of this medication, and if eosinophil levels increase, the condition should be closely monitored. For patients receiving long-term steroid treatment, caution should be exercised when reducing steroid doses with this medication due to the risk of adrenal insufficiency, and it should be tapered off slowly. Care should be taken as the original condition may worsen if steroids are reduced and then stopped after taking this medication. Seasonal allergy patients should start this medication just before the onset of their symptoms and continue to take it consistently during the symptom period. If no effect is observed, care should be taken not to continue taking it unnecessarily for an extended period. This medication may affect blood coagulation ability when taken with or stopped from warfarin, so patients on warfarin should frequently check their blood coagulation status. Women who may become pregnant should not take this medication, and breastfeeding women should either stop breastfeeding or avoid taking this medication. Elderly patients may be more susceptible to side effects due to decreased bodily functions, so dose adjustments or caution is necessary. This medication may affect allergy test results if taken before testing, so it is advisable not to take it before tests.
