Relief of inflammation and pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
This medication is effective for inflammatory diseases of the joints and muscles such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is also used to treat tendinitis, acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. Additionally, it helps with bursitis, muscle and ligament injuries, back pain, postoperative pain relief, as well as migraine and pain relief after tooth extraction. Overall, it is widely used for the treatment of various types of pain and inflammatory diseases.
1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: administer 275-550 mg of Naproxen Sodium orally twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout: administer an initial dose of 825 mg orally, then 275 mg orally every 8 hours until the attack subsides. 3. Skeletal muscle disorders, postoperative pain, pain after tooth extraction, dysmenorrhea, tendinitis, bursitis: administer an initial dose of 550 mg orally.
Patients who regularly consume alcohol, particularly more than three drinks a day, should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as taking it with alcohol may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, especially serious vascular issues such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Therefore, individuals with cardiovascular conditions or risk factors should exercise extra caution. If cardiovascular symptoms occur during treatment, consult healthcare professionals immediately. This medication can also cause serious gastrointestinal issues such as bleeding, ulcers, and perforations. The risk may be higher in the elderly or those on long-term treatment, and any gastrointestinal symptoms require immediate medical attention. Individuals with specific conditions such as peptic ulcer, severe blood disorders, liver disease, heart failure, kidney disease, or hypertension should not take this medication. Additionally, those who have allergies to this medication's ingredients or have had hypersensitivity reactions to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin should avoid its use. Individuals with a history of peptic ulcers or blood disorders, liver disease, kidney disease, hypertension, or asthma should use this medication cautiously and consult a healthcare provider if unusual symptoms occur. Taking this medication can lead to various side effects including allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood disorders, liver or kidney function abnormalities, skin rashes, headaches, dizziness, auditory and visual disturbances. If these symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. The medication should be used at the smallest effective dose for the shortest necessary duration to minimize the risk of side effects; long-term users should undergo regular blood tests and liver and kidney function assessments. Patients with abnormalities in cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, liver, or kidney function should be closely monitored during treatment. The risk of side effects may increase when taken with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so co-administration is not recommended. Additionally, it may interact with some antihypertensive drugs, diuretics, anticoagulants, and chemotherapy agents, so inform your healthcare provider of any other medications you are taking. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the later stages, as it may affect fetal kidney function in the second half of pregnancy. It is also advisable to avoid use during breastfeeding, as it can pass into breast milk and cause side effects in the baby. It is preferable not to administer this medication to children under 2 years of age, as safety has not been established, and it should be administered cautiously at the minimum effective dose in children or the elderly. Overdosage may result in symptoms such as drowsiness, dyspepsia, and vomiting; seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms occur. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may not be good for preserving its quality.
Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, sweating → severe allergic reaction. High fever with severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa → severe skin reaction. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, cough + fever with respiratory distress → respiratory issues. Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy → liver issues (jaundice). Sudden and very severe headache.

Do not take this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and naproxen derivatives. Consult a doctor or pharmacist when taken with hydantoin anticonvulsants, sulfonamides, sulfonylurea hypoglycemics, propranolol and other beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, loop and thiazide diuretics, probenecid, aspirin, lithium, methotrexate, coumarin anticoagulants, zidovudine, quinolone antibiotics.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. The appropriate storage temperature is between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
