Efficacy & effects
This medication is effective for degenerative joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis. It is also used for fever and pain caused by colds, low back pain, dysmenorrhea, and postoperative pain relief. Additionally, it can be applied to ankylosing spondylitis, headaches, toothaches, muscle pain, neuralgia, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis, soft tissue injuries, and various non-articular rheumatic diseases. This drug helps to effectively improve various pains and inflammation. It is widely used to alleviate overall joint and muscle-related pain and inflammation.
Dosage
Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue injuries, non-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis: 200-600mg orally, 3-4 times a day. A maximum of 3200mg can be administered per day. For mild to moderate pain, colds: 200-400mg orally, 3-4 times a day. Adjust according to age and symptoms.
Precautions
This medication should not be used by individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol per day, as it increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding; consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential. It may pose risks to the cardiovascular system, thus individuals with heart disease or risk factors, or those on long-term use should be closely monitored for cardiovascular adverse reactions. Patients with hypertension, congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease, etc., should use this medication with caution and avoid high doses. This drug can cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation; thus, elderly patients or those on long-term use should exercise extra caution. It is safer for patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, renal impairment, heart failure, or hypertension not to take this medication. Individuals with hypersensitivity to any component of this medication or a history of hypersensitivity to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should also avoid it. Pregnant women in late pregnancy should not take this medication as it may pose risks to the fetus, and those who are pregnant should consult with a physician. Do not exceed the recommended dose when taking this medication, and avoid using it in conjunction with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. If breastfeeding, this medication may transfer into breast milk and cause adverse reactions in infants, so either breastfeeding should be discontinued or the medication should be stopped. While taking this medication, drowsiness or dizziness may occur, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery, and symptoms may worsen if taken with alcohol. Individuals with existing conditions such as blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, renal impairment, heart disease, and hypertension must consult with a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication. This medication can mask infection symptoms, so it's essential to consult a physician immediately if symptoms persist or worsen. Long-term use requires regular blood tests and liver function tests, and dosage adjustment or discontinuation may be necessary if abnormalities are found. If symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, severe headache, vision changes, swelling, or bleeding occur, immediately discontinue use and seek medical attention. This medication can raise blood pressure or worsen heart failure symptoms, so patients with hypertension or heart failure should frequently monitor blood pressure while taking it. Overdosing can lead to severe side effects like dizziness, nausea, vomiting, liver dysfunction, and renal failure, so it’s essential to adhere strictly to the recommended dosage.
Side effects
Hives, severe swelling (edema), tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, paleness, high fever with severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral or ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory distress accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, vision changes, paralysis, urticaria
Interactions
This medication should not be taken by patients receiving high-dose methotrexate as part of cancer therapy. Do not take it with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Patients taking low-dose aspirin, ACE inhibitors, lithium, furosemide and thiazide diuretics, low-dose methotrexate, coumarin anticoagulants, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors should consult their physician or pharmacist.
