Precautions

This medication is formulated as a suspension and should not be administered via intravenous injection. Administering into the epidural space or spinal canal may cause severe side effects and must be avoided under any circumstances. The ingredient benzyl alcohol is included, which can pose a risk to premature and newborn infants. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or those with infectious diseases should not use it. Caution is necessary, especially for systemic fungal infections or intra-articular infections, as symptoms might worsen. This medication should be administered cautiously to patients with specific diseases such as tuberculosis, glaucoma, hypertension, and diabetes, as there is a risk of symptom exacerbation. Additionally, caution is needed for elderly patients or those with liver disease or heart failure. During treatment, side effects such as edema, hypertension, muscle weakness, osteoporosis, gastrointestinal issues, skin changes, and neurological abnormalities may occur, so the patient's condition must be closely monitored. Long-term use may lead to adrenal insufficiency, so sudden discontinuation is dangerous, and tapering off is necessary. Resistance to infections may decrease, so it is important to be cautious about exposure to infectious diseases like chickenpox or measles. There are many drug interactions, so if you are taking other medications, you must inform your healthcare provider, as concurrent use may reduce efficacy or increase side effects. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication cautiously, as it may affect the fetus or newborn; breastfeeding is recommended to be discontinued. When used in children, side effects such as growth retardation may occur, so it should be used carefully at the minimum effective dose, and care should be taken to avoid tissue damage at the injection site. Elderly patients are at higher risk of infection and various side effects, so a thorough assessment of their condition is required before administration, and close observation is necessary. When injecting, care should be taken in selecting the injection site to avoid nerve damage, and if severe pain or blood reflux occurs during injection, the injection site should be changed immediately.
