This medication is used to relieve the symptoms of difficulty in expectoration caused by acute and chronic bronchitis.
How to take
Adult dose
Adults and individuals aged 14 years and above: Take 8 to 16 mg of Bromhexine Hydrochloride once, 3 times a day.
Child dose
Children aged 6 years and above but under 14 years: Take 4 to 8 mg of this medication once, 2 to 3 times a day. Children aged 2 years and above but under 6 years: Take 4 mg of this medication once, 1 to 2 times a day.
Precautions
This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this drug or any of its components. Women who are breastfeeding should avoid taking this medication as it may be transferred through breast milk. Individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should be cautious when taking this medication as it may cause issues. Those with peptic ulcers, severely impaired renal function, or poor hepatic function should consult a physician before use. If bronchial function is impaired and secretions are excessive, taking this medication may pose risks; consult a specialist. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant are advised to avoid this medication, particularly during the first trimester. Care should be taken if this medication is being taken alongside certain antibiotics, as it may affect the efficacy of the antibiotics.
