I’ve been coming here for about five years, since the clinic first opened, and overall I’ve been very satisfied. The doctor listens carefully and gives helpful feedback on things like how to relieve my symptoms. They also explain what each medication is for and what side effects to watch out for. They don’t prescribe medication casually, and they take the time to make a careful assessment first. However, since there are so many adult patients, Saturdays seem to have become especially crowded recently. Until recently, if I had an appointment on Saturday morning, I could usually book a similar morning time slot for the following month. But for the past couple of months, even if I arrive right at opening time at 10:00, they tell me that only appointments at 1:40 or 1:50 p.m. are left for the following month. They say the earliest available time is 1:20 p.m. Since the clinic closes at 2:00 p.m., that means all the morning appointments are already fully booked a month in advance. I’m only available on Saturday mornings, and I have other plans in the afternoon, so even if I manage to get an afternoon appointment, I end up having to arrive right at opening time and wait. In that case, I have to wait at least 40 minutes. On top of that, if a Saturday is a public holiday, Saturday appointments are only available once a month... Then existing patients with appointments on their usual dates, as well as new patients, all end up coming at once, and the whole process becomes extremely chaotic. I think Saturday appointments should be changed from every other week to every week, with a weekday off on one of the less busy days, or the clinic may need more doctors working on weekends. There probably aren’t many patients who would want to switch doctors, but it seems like a solution is needed for this situation. The nurses at the front desk handle the appointments, so they end up having to deal with all of these complaints as well. It seems like improvements are needed in the Saturday appointment process and in several other areas.
