To enhance the effects of dieting, women should eat rice, while men should exercise on an empty stomach before eating rice.

 

Women's bodies have a tendency to conserve carbohydrates. When exercising and eating, fat burning stops and the body focuses on conserving carbohydrates. For women who need to eat after exercising, it is best to wait at least 90 minutes before eating.

 

This is because intense fat burning occurs for 90 minutes after exercise. On the other hand, men's bodies prioritize muscle preservation over carbohydrate storage. When exercising in a non-fasted state, the body uses the carbohydrates consumed before exercise to build muscle rather than burning fat.

A research team from Surrey University in the UK instructed one group to drink a carbohydrate-containing beverage before exercise and another group to drink it after exercise. The results showed that women who ate before exercise lost 22% more body fat, while men who ate after exercise lost 8% more body fat.

 

There are studies that have confirmed menstrual activity. A research team from Bath University in the UK had male experimental participants exercise twice: once on an empty stomach and once after consuming a high-carbohydrate meal. By collecting blood and adipose tissue multiple times for comparison, they found that when exercising in a fasting state, both energy metabolism-related genes PDK4 and HSL increased. Conversely, when exercising after a meal, these two genes decreased.

 

Meanwhile, it is also important to establish a regular routine by setting specific times for exercise and meals. Our bodies secrete hormones according to habits, so forming a regular routine allows metabolic hormones to be released on time, thereby enhancing fat metabolism. Eating and exercising irregularly can lead to increased appetite or emotional instability.
