Sweat is dripping only on the face as if washing... Breathing 'like this' alleviates it

I really feel like I washed my face, and sweat is pouring down my face tremendously..

It was a continuous stream... When I was a student... everyone would ask if I had washed my face...;;;

It might be because I don't do diaphragmatic breathing..

I think I should try to sweat less by practicing diaphragmatic breathing...

A proper diaphragmatic breathing method... I think I need to learn it too, haha.

When exercising or eating spicy food, sweat naturally drips down the face. However, there are people who sweat excessively only on their face, making it look like they've just washed it. Is there a special reason for this?

If you sweat excessively on your face compared to other parts of your body, it could be a problem with your "breathing." The human body produces heat through digestion and metabolic activities even when at rest. This heat is released through breathing, helping to cool the body. Taking deep breaths using diaphragmatic breathing helps dissipate heat effectively and reduces facial sweating.

However, people with rhinitis, sinusitis, or pharyngolaryngitis tend to have difficulty breathing deeply compared to the general population. If they cannot practice diaphragmatic breathing, the heat that cannot be expelled through respiration is released through facial skin, causing excessive sweating. Actively treating respiratory conditions and making an effort to breathe deeply in and out can alleviate the symptom of excessive facial sweating. Increasing lung capacity through exercise is also helpful. Learning and incorporating diaphragmatic breathing through yoga or similar activities is also beneficial.

It wasn't like this when I was young, but recently I have been sweating excessively on my face and neck, which could be due to aging. As we age, sweat pores also age. The function of sweat glands begins to decline from the extremities like hands and feet. The sweat glands around the face and neck are maintained the longest. Therefore, children sweat a lot on their palms and soles, but middle-aged people mainly sweat on their face and neck.

People who sweat excessively only on their face and head due to simple aging may benefit from taking anticholinergic medications. Anticholinergic drugs have the effect of suppressing sweat secretion. Women who experience increased facial sweating due to menopause can see improvement in their symptoms by being prescribed and taking female hormones at a gynecology clinic. Middle-aged individuals who have had diabetes for a long time may not sweat at all in certain parts of their body, while other areas may sweat excessively. For example, they may sweat heavily on the left side of the face but not on the right side. The cause is damage to the autonomic nervous system due to high blood sugar levels, which impairs the function of sweat glands. In such cases, managing blood sugar levels can naturally improve the symptoms.
